Capricorn
Conservation Council is the principal not-for-profit environment
organisation in
Central Queensland. CCC was founded in 1973 and has been actively
campaigning on regional environmental issues ever since. CCC is a
community based conservation group with a membership of people
concerned about environmental issues. CCC is governed by a
Management Committee made up of a group of dedicated
volunteers.
CCC employs a part time coordinator and a part time project officer. Our Objectives ![]()
Our Strategy We work towards achieving our objectives by engaging in discussion, collaboration, education and on-the-ground activities which promote the conservation of our environment. We engage with local communities, grass roots groups, other environment groups, educational institutions, governments, councils, industry and corporations who share our objectives for conservation. The Management Committee At the Annual General Meeting, the Management Committee is elected from within CCC's membership. The Management Committee meet on a monthly basis to provide strategic direction to CCC campaigns and focus and are responsible for governance and management of CCC business.
